A Demolished Church in Verdun, Quebec

The Notre-Dame-De-La-Paix church in Verdun was demolished in the summer of 2014. It was 54 years old, and was located just off Lasalle Boulevard in Verdun. Open to the air and surrounded by rubble, it is one of the spookiest things I’ve ever seen.

At this point, more than half the building was gone.
The crucifix was one of the last things to be taken down.

You can see the steps leading up to the altar throughout the window.

The gaping maw of the church’s interior open to the sky is a surreal sight.
