Elegant Web Design
Client Story: New design for an established business.
House of Travel is a well-established Montreal business with a long history and loyal clientel in both tourism and business travel. What they lacked was a cohesive branding and online marketing presence.
The company came to Digital Wind to fill in those crucial pieces.
Corporate Identity
Up until now, House of Travel had no corporate branding of its own. Rather, the company promoted itself as an affiliate of the Advantage Travel & Cruise Center.
Digital Wind collaborated with House of Travel in the development of a new logo design that was identifiable and memorable. The logo is designed to be used on the web, on letterhead and stationary, and on outdoor signage.
Web Redesign
The existing House of Travel web site was several years old, and had a number of problems:
- Visual clutter: Small and unclear menus. Most page elements were exactly the same size and difficult to distinguish.
- Poor organization: The menu system was difficult to understand, and failed to work correctly in modern browsers.
- Broken pages: Several pages contained broken links, or were altogether missing.
- Graphically uninteresting: There was little about the page design that said anything about travel.
Digital Wind created a clean, well-organized, strongly-branded design based on user needs. The new site includes dynamic content areas for specials and packages that the HOT staff can update quickly and easily. We used web standards (HTML Strict and tableless CSS layout) to make the site fast-loading, easy to maintain, and accessible to more browsers.
Email Newsletters
Digital Wind also launched a weekly email newsletter services for House of Travel based on our custom-designed subscription system. The interface is web-based and easy to use.
